Role Overview
We are looking for a blog writer who understands Nigerian conversations and online culture.
The ideal candidate should be able to turn trending discussions, cultural moments, and public debates into engaging, relatable articles that people actually want to read and share.
This role goes beyond basic blogging. The writer will contribute to shaping the voice and perspective of the 99Pluz platform.
Topics you may write about include:
• Culture and society
• Trending conversations and online debates
• Pop culture (film, entertainment, celebrity moments)
• Political developments and public conversations
• Sports highlights and commentary
• Seasonal topics and lifestyle pieces
• Helpful explainers and “how-to” articles
Additional Advantage
Candidates based in Lagos who can occasionally create street-style interactive interview videos around trending topics will have an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities

Write clear, engaging articles on trending topics and public conversations

Identify interesting discussions happening online and develop them into blog pieces

Share and amplify published articles on personal social media platforms

Bring fresh ideas and angles that strengthen the 99Pluz editorial voice
Requirements

Strong writing ability with a clear and engaging style

Good understanding of Nigerian social media conversations and trends

Active presence on social media with an engaged audience

Ability to think quickly and respond to trending discussions

Creative thinking and the ability to pitch new article ideas
Contract Structure

This role will begin as a temporary contract position, with opportunities for continued collaboration based on performance and contribution to the platform.
Compensation
This role offers a starting monthly compensation of up to ₦60,000, depending on experience and writing quality.
Candidates with stronger experience and proven writing ability will be prioritised within the upper range.
Applicants with limited experience may be considered at a lower entry rate.
Additional compensation may be available for candidates who can also contribute street-style video interviews and social content.
Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skill level, and scope of contribution.
