Milton Keynes, UK — September 2026

UK-based Afropop/Afrofusion artist Great Adamz has added another major accolade to his growing list of achievements after being crowned Best Singer of the Year at the 2026 MK Afro Diaspora Awards.

The recognition was presented at the fourth edition of the MK Afro Diaspora Awards, held on 5 September 2026 at Medbourne Pavilion in Milton Keynes. The award celebrates Great Adamz’s continued contribution to music and his growing impact within the African diaspora community in the UK.

For the artist, the recognition comes at a significant point in his career. Following a run of chart appearances, award wins and growing international attention, being named Best Singer of the Year further reinforces his position as one of the UK-based African artists steadily building a presence both within and beyond the music scene.

About the MK Afro Diaspora Awards

The MK Afro Diaspora Awards is an annual recognition platform celebrating the achievements, contributions and impact of Black African and Caribbean individuals, businesses and organisations within the Milton Keynes community.

The 2026 edition was organised by Might and Grace Productions CIC, a Milton Keynes-based organisation involved in creative, cultural, entertainment and community-focused initiatives. The organisation is led by Anthonia Ngozi Beddall, whose work spans community engagement, event development, creative programming and opportunities for artists and creative practitioners.

Now in its fourth edition, the awards recognise excellence across entertainment, community support, fashion, hair and beauty, business and innovation, catering and hospitality, youth, sports, and health and wellbeing. The platform continues to shine a light on individuals whose work, talent and contributions are helping strengthen the African and Caribbean community in Milton Keynes.

Another Milestone in a Growing Career:

Great Adamz’s latest recognition comes on the back of an increasingly impressive run.

His recent single “Omahe” has been gaining strong traction across social media, particularly on TikTok, where audiences have embraced the song’s uplifting sound and feel-good energy. The release also climbed to No. 6 on the iTunes African: Nigeria chart within days of its release and reached No. 11 on the iTunes Music: Nigeria chart.

His previous single “Shake,” a collaboration with international dance producer Manuel Riva, delivered another significant milestone, reaching No. 1 on the Music Week Black Music Chart — Great Adamz’s first appearance on the chart — while also surpassing **1 million plays on Audiomack.

Beyond his music, Great Adamz has continued to receive recognition for his contribution to the wider African and diaspora community, building a reputation that extends beyond recordings and performances.

With the momentum continuing to build, the artist is expected to take his music to bigger stages across the UK and diaspora, with more performances, tours and international opportunities ahead. He is also preparing for upcoming projects and live appearances, including his Hearts & Harmony Valentine's event.

The Best Singer of the Year award marks another significant chapter in Great Adamz’s journey — and with “Omahe” continuing to gain momentum, there is clearly more to come.

Congratulations to Great Adamz on this well-deserved recognition.
